Day 1

Arrival at Geneva - Transfer to Montreux
Welcome to Switzerland. Upon your arrival at Geneva, clear immigration. After collecting your baggage, use your Swiss pass and take the train to Montreux. The journey takes about an hour and 15 mins. After you reach Montreux, walk to your hotel and check-in. Montreux is a beautiful town on the banks of Lake Geneva and you will be truly mesmerized by the beauty of the Lake and the Mountains behind it. In the evening you can visit the Chillon Castle or Chateau de Chillon, the architectural jewel of Montreux. A wander along the serene promenade tracing the shores of Lake Geneva provides the best introduction to the town, with scores of shops, cafes, and restaurants to draw you in. Be sure to check out the lakeside Freddie Mercury memorial statue at the promenade. |
Day 2

Day Trip to Vevey, Lavaux Wineyards and Laussane
In the morning, take the train to Vevey, a small town about 30 mins by train from Montreux. Visit Chaplin’s World, an interactive and entertaining museum entirely dedicated to Charlie Chaplin. The Museum Entrance is free with the Swiss Pass. You can have lunch at Vevey before visiting the Lavaux Wineyards. A trip to the terraced Lavaux Vineyards is at the top of most visitors' hit lists, so set aside an afternoon to explore Montreux’s most famous sight. Take a stroll through the labyrinth of vines or hop on a train tour around the UNESCO World Heritage Site before heading to the wine cellar to sample the region’s beloved Chasselas wine. Continue your journey to the old town of Laussane, where you can visit the Olympic Museum or stroll around the Old Town. While returning take a boat cruise on Lake Geneva and come back to Montreux. |
Day 3

Montreux - Glacier 3000 - Gstaad
Breakfast at the hotel. Today visit Glacier 3000 in Gstaad. You have to take the Panoramic Golden Pass Line to reach Gstaad. On arrival at Gstaad, take a post bus to the cable car Valley Station of Col du Pillon and from there on, travel by cable car to the Glacier 3000. Please note that you will be asked for your Glacier voucher at Col du Pillon. Once on top, there are various activities for young and old. The 1-kilometre Alpine Coaster, the world’s highest bobsleigh track, is a must. There are also husky dog sled rides, the snow bus and skiing galore. There are also 2 restaurants- Botta 3000 and the Old egg where you can enjoy anything from small snacks to local specialities with the spectacular view thrown in for free. While returning back you can opt to spend a couple of hours at the small town of Gstaad. This gorgeous walking city boasts a high-end and sophisticated aura that attracts celebs and world-travellers from all over. Gstaad can be considered the more exclusive and local alternative to St. Moritz – with it’s luxurious charm and upscale environment. Return to your hotel after a fun filled day. Day 4

Experience the Chocolate Train
Today you will experience a ride on the Chocolate Train (using your Swiss Pass). Breakfast in the hotel. Board Chocolate train from Montreux till Broc. A coffee and a croissant will be served on board. The «La Maison du Gruyère» awaits you for a visit of the demonstration at cheese factory. Afterwards a bus takes you to the village of Gruyères for some leisure time. Enjoy the tasty local cheese fondue or visit the Gruyères castle. Later the Chocolate Train takes you to «Maison Cailler-Nestlé». Learn everything about the history of Swiss chocolate making tradition followed by chocolate tasting. Day 5

Transfer from Montreux to Zermatt
Post breakfast this morning it's time to pack and make your way to the train station and head to the car free city of Zermatt. (2hrs 40 mins with 1 change at VISP) Upon arrival make your way to the hotel and check in. The day is free for you to walk around this lovely village nestled at the foot of the mammoth Matterhorn. Overnight in Zermatt. |
Day 6

Full Day Excursion to Matterhorn
The must-see peak here is undoubtedly the Matterhorn. This morning following breakfast, make your way to the Gonergrat train station and board Switzerland's oldest electrified cogwheel train to the Gonergrat. Here you can see other peaks surrounding you and crowned by the glorious view of the Matterhorn. Spend time at the summit where you could also have some hot coffee or tea and some lunch. Or going and experiencing the Glacier Paradise at Matterhorn - Europe's highest mountain excursion -12700 ft, a must!! It guarantees snow 365 days in Zermatt region & highest glacier palace in the world. Later in the afternoon its time to make your way back to the city. Overnight in Zermatt. Day 7

Zermatt - Zurich - Rhine Falls
Post breakfast check out and make your way to the station to take your train to Zurich. Upon arrival in Zurich check-in to hotel. Later board the train to Schaffhausen. Schaffhausen to the Rhine falls is around 15 mins by public transport which is free on your Swiss Pass. Europe’s biggest waterfall, the Rhine falls measure 75 feet (23 m) high and 490 feet (150 m) wide. A dramatic series of falls unlike those in the more mountainous areas, they are one of the most popular sights in all of Switzerland. It is best to see them in the early summer, when the falls are fed by the melting mountain snows. Return back to Zurich in the evening. We recommend you take a walk along the Lake, shop at the many malls and stores dotting the promenade or take a half day trip to the Alpamare water park that is open till late. |

Take Train to Zurich Airport - Departure
After breakfast check-out of your hotel and use your Swiss Pass to take train to Zurich Airport. Check-in and board your flight for your return journey home. |
