Arrive Salalah and transfer to Hotel - Private Basis

The first destination for the half day tour is the ancient town of Taqah with its beautiful white sand beach and a guided tour of the impressive castle, after this you will be driven to the stunning lagoon of Khor Rori and its vast range of wildlife., the lagoon is dominated by the ancient ramparts of Samahram, a strongly fortified Frankincense centre dating from the end of the 4th Century BC. From here you will be taken to the Tomb of Bin Ali, the man reputed to have introduced the Islam to the Dhofar region. A short distance away lies the ancient fishing village of Mirbat with its imposing castle and bustling harbour. Rounding off the tour is light-hearted dis-orientating trip along the anti-gravity road at Towi Attir, before being escorted back to your hotel.

Salalah East Half Day Tour - Private Basis

Half day tours mornings or afternoons at times to suit the individual or group. The tours last approximately 4 to 5 hours. Our experienced guides will collect you from any of the local hotels. The first destination for the half day tour will be a Ain Jarziz, water spring and drive up into the mountains North of Salalah to visit the Tomb of Nabi Ayoub (the prophet to Job) set in the walled gardens of a mosque with spectacular views out over Jebel Nabi Ayoub. There are also caves to explore and shaded areas for relaxing. Next you will be driven west passing Salalah Ports and on the beautiful beach of Mughsail, with its natural blow holes spurting jets of water many meter into the air. On the return journey there will be opportunities to stop and view Frankincense Tree.

Salalah West Half Day Tour - Private Basis

Our experienced tour guides will collect you from hotel taking you up the Green Line Salalah to Muscat Road, heading up into the mountains. First stop will be take in the breath taking views of Wadi Nahiz at the base of the mountain ravine. From here you will travel further into the mountains passing the spectacular Ragkot Valley famed for its rare and expensive honey, before arriving at Thumrayt you will take a detour to see Wadi Dowka, a vast plane littered with Frankincense Trees. After passing through the town of Thumrayt you will leave the main road and travel on the old Frankincense Trail towards Shisr. Here you can find the ancient remains dating from the Iron Age, discovered by satellite technology, which are reputed to be the fabled LOST CITY OF UBAR. After a guided tour around the remains and a visit to the attached museum the journey will continue to the Bedouin camp site at Hadhef, from here you will travel along the Wadi Hadhef into the sand dune desert where you may disembark and climb the giant dunes, to savour the silence and beauty of the largest sand dune desert in the world. The day tour commences at 8 am and returns at about 4pm, light snacks and cold drinks are provided. The Sunset tour commences at 2 pm so you may see the spectacular desert sunset before returning back.
