Day 2
|
Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Ubisa - Kutaisi
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Mtskheta – an ancient capital of Georgia, important religious centre and city-museum which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Along the way we will stop to visit Jvari Monastery (6th century). This well-known monastery is located on the top of the mountain, at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. Then head to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century) which is known as a place where Christ’s robe was buried. Walk along the narrow streets of Mtskheta with souvenir shopping possibility. Continue to Kutaisi – Historically one of the major cities of Georgia, It served as Political center of Colchis in the Middle Ages as capital of the Kingdom of Abkhazia and Kingdom of Georgia and later as the capital of the Kingdom of Imereti. On our way stop at St George’s church of Ubisa Monastic Complex, built on the verge of 9-10 centuries. The Temple presents a magnificent composition of all the Great feasts: the Annunciation, the Palm Sunday, The Crucifixion, the Resurrection, The Epiphany and others. Day 3

Kutaisi – Martvili Canyon – Okatse Canyon – Kutaisi
After breakfast at the hotel, depart to Martvili Canyon, picturesque landmark of water and rocks. The canyon was formed by the waters of the Abasha River. The natural landmark attracts many tourists who want to experience the contrast between the tranquil river and the dynamic waterfalls. Enjoy Boat trip.Continue to Okatse Canyon. Enjoy hiking and 780 meters length hanging trail. The Pedestrian trail passes through Dadiani Historic forests. Return to Kutaisi for hotel accommodation and overnight. |
Day 4

Kutaisi – Prometheus Cave – Uplistsikhe - Tbilisi
Breakfast at the hotel. Before departing to Tbilisi, visit Prometheus cave. The magic cave is full with stunning curtains of stalactites and stalagmites. There are 22 halls found, where just 6 halls are open for tourists. It is possible to walk through the length of 1420 meters in the caves territory. Enjoy Boat trip. Depart to Tbilisi. Drive to cave town Uplistsikhe (1st millennium BC) – one of the first cities in Georgia carved into the rock. The caves were the site of pagan rituals, before Georgia became a Christian country.
